MAJORITY RULE, MINORITY RIGHTS

The reason why majority rule is preferable to unanimity is because it's more expedient. However, instead of only the bare majority of one vote, it is often required to have a provision of 2/3 or 3/4 majority, as the Constitution does for some important measures.



Once a majority decision is created though, the dissenting minority does not lose his equal rights.
