SOVEREIGNTY OF THE PEOPLE
From the 9/12 project:9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
From previous chapters we learned about man's unalienable rights. Among these, the right to rule over others is not permitted. Unless, that is, if the majority of the people consent to be led. The one(s) prescribed to lead are thought to be servants of the people. And it is up to the people to replace their leaders once it is deemed they are no longer adequately represented.
Though many throughout history have proclaimed they are the divine rulers of a nation, God has never ordained anyone the right of authority. Even Jesus never assumed authority over another.
